    The one thing I am wondering about an optical trackpad is how easily can it be scratched if dropped.

    the onyx will sport the trackpad, is final decision, was already revised and approved by RIM they are just getting ready with the os, but you never know with rim....
    btw you all can spect a wifi tour by next year for sprint and verizon

    There are two prototypes one that use the trackball and one that use the trackpad, I was told that the trackpad is the winner, but again till released you never know, is a RIM bug lol

    There is more then one hardware revision. The latest one has a trackball. That is another revision

    That's what I've heard. That they are working out the problems with the OS. And Tour with WiFi I heard months ago. There was talk at Sprint with releasing another Tour type device with WiFi after WiMAX is fully rolled out.

    Just an FYI for those of you with an Onyx. The HW version you have is dependent on what device software build you can use. None that I have seen on any forums for instance could use the latest OS revisions.
