Thread: 9700 camera cannot be launched...

Hi everyone, i have this problem where my bold camera cannot be launched..... anybody can help.. thanks

this message appears on my screen...."could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again."

Just press Alt+Shift+del, which gives your BlackBerry Bold 9700 a soft reboot without physically removing the battery.

I have tried that few times... but still cant get it launched...

Hey pat sorry to hear your still having issues. This issue may be caused by one of the following:

There are too many open applications on the BlackBerry smartphone.
There is a physical problem with the integrated camera.


Cause 1

There are too many open applications on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Resolution 1a

Close all applications on the BlackBerry smartphone. On the BlackBerry smartphone, display the menu and select Close.

Resolution 1b

Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions. Then attempt to open the camera application again.

Resolution 1c

Run the BlackBerry smartphone through the application loader tool.
Warning: The following procedures will delete either all data, or all data and applications on the BlackBerry smartphone. Back up the data prior to performing the procedure.

Cause 2
There is a physical problem with the integrated camera.
Resolution 2
If all the above have been attempted and the camera application does not open, contact your service provider for further assistance.

hope this info helps, if not then it sounds like its a hardware failure and the phone may need to be replaced.

We all hope it works, thanks to Ishap, if you continue to experience the same issue again, either have someone else take a look at your device, or consider it a hardware issue after all other possible options have been exhausted.

Try a battery pull, if it won't help try to reinstall the OS.

my cam too wont just com up...av tried d steps above...no way out

Hello Don, you could always try and reinstall the OS on your device. That may be the next option.
