Thread: OS6 from Rogers won't work for 9700

I just upgraded my 9700 from OS5 to a leaked OS6 version, because the official release available for Rogers subscribers breaks. Other threads have reported the same error during initialization of the Install Wizard, but I don't know if it should be reported to Rogers themselves, or the BBOS folks who host that link.

I think that it should be reported to the host of the link. Rogers has nothing to do with that link, do they?

Yes that is correct. It would help if we had an idea of what this error is. Whats the error people are getting?

The error message from InstallShield is: "Error reading setup initialization file".

I've seen this error message in other threads, and gave up on the Rogers os6 download, which is 9700M_PBr6.0.0_rel1879_PL6.6.0.124_A6.0.0.448_Roge rs_Wireless_Inc. I'm now using 6.0.0.600 from this BBOS site, which did install correctly.

Try to reinstall the OS... delete all the vendor.xml files.
