Default Services and Calendar on OS 6

    BB9700
    BIS
    OS 6.0.0.534

I've successfuly upgraded my device to 6.0.0.534; however, i had to wipe out the data (after a backup) to reset of the IT Policy that was preventing me to use BB Protect. Perfomed restore, no issues.

Now my problem is that i can't find anymore (and can't create one) the Desktop account to use it under Default Services to sync up my BB Calendar with my PC's laptop. i don't want to sync it with my personal email account on that device.

i remember i use to have an icon Desktop on the handheld.

    can anyone help me please!

    Hello Marcel,

Normally the IT policy that you describe would be issued by a companies BES server. It seems as though you have two email addresses. Is that correct?
I would suggest that you do one of two things:

    1. Resend your carriers default service books. That can be done by following the procedures outlined by RIM here:

KB02830-Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    2. Or have your work Administrators resend the BES service books.

You may also have to delete them before your resend them as well. Hope this helps.

I'm on BIS and yes I have couple of email addresses linked to the device. I've never accessed the BIS from my PC (not sure what are the credentials to do that); i have to call my carrier to send me the service book. However, i was able to sync my calendar (both ways) by deleting all CICAL entries for all the email accounts, so the Defaults serivces list does not inlcude any CICAL.

    marceln,

You may follow this article by RIM to remove both the CICAL and CMIMIE (messages) service books:

KB05000-Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone

Then you may resend the service books by following the link in my previous post. If you can tell me what provider you have I can tell you how to log on to your BIS account for the first time.
