Issue with WifI 9700

I have a bold 9700, it is an unlocked tmobile phone. I live in the Caribbean so i am currently using it with the network down here an it works OK with the network. I recently tried to connect to my home's wi-fi, the phone would pick up the connection an it will work for some short periods, or sometimes it wouldn't even work at all, then the internet connection on my modem gets a red light...i have a siemens gigaset 204 A, and to this i have my linksys wirless modem modem connected. It is not an issue with the ISP beacuse I tested it...i wud turn off the wifi on my phone for about an 30 mins an the internet works well, but when i turn on the wifi on my phone the modem gets a red light an stops working an will not work again until i turn off the wifi on my phone an reset the modem. It wasn't working on OS 5.0.0.586 an i updated my OS today to 5.0.0.714 an it still is doing the same thing

What is the label on the red light?

the label is internet an it is is a flashing green light when it is working

The red light should be on your router and not on your modem right?

well its on my modem, but i would think it would crash the router but it crashes the modem

Maybe you have to re-configure your wireless router, or maybe reset it.

Yea i did that. My brother has a gemini an the wifi works well with his phone given i don't turn on mine. This is very puzzling because this morning I did a battery pull an it worked for like 5 mins then did the same thing again

on the router?

It should not be on the modem at all. That's a huge problem for me...

Have you tried just unpowering the modem and router and retrying it?
Are you sure the MAC address on your BB is not blacklisted?

well the modem is working well now as well as the router since my wifi on the bb is off...what do you mean by blacklisted?...I have not turned on the mac address filter for the router. It has on no security

That is probably and IP conflict, unplug your modem for at least 3 mins and then turn it back one, if u are using windows open the start menu and in the search bar type command, when the program opens with your wifi on type ipconfig/reset, let it do its thing, once done type ipconfig/renew

I tried your suggestion...it worked for 5 mins then it crashed the modem again. I am lost as to what to do now. I tried it on the wifi at my brother's work an it also crashed their wifi

Manage Connections >> WiFi Options >> BB key on your network >> wifi-tools >> Wifi Diagnostics.

Not really. Plus, you will get the internal IP address from the BB, which is given by the router, which is not an IP we in the outside world can see.
