Wow, has this been one long awaited leak. This is a fresh leak, only minutes ago - and I have already read some very good things about it so far. I do suggest giving it a go! Be aware that this is a leak and not an official. And as always, please post your findings and fixes in the appropriate thread below. Happy downloading!

- Note:
I updated from a hybrid 442 to this Leak. So i did not wipe my phone beforehand. just didn't feel like doing so
okay okay i confess, i just tested another the hybrid yesterday and wiped my phone and reinstalled all my apps
didn't feel like doing it again:P

Okay now that, thats said lets continue:

-FirstBoot (stuck a 75% (for 2 minutes 3sec. Im getting used to this now. happens alot with the 9700 first boot after OS update atleast at my blackberry) stuck at 95% (for 30sec)

Blackberry Appworld: Gets stuck on loading (this could be caused by a defective antenna on my bb9700)
Gmail: Gets stucks on loading inbox / maps (this could be caused by a defective antenna on my bb9700)
Google sync Gets on syncing: (this could be caused by a defective antenna on my bb9700)

Browser was able to test it: responded fast

Overall OS speed, Fast but nothing special, compared to 442 is kinda the same.



Conclusion all the above apps work: only some that use the internet services
get stuck on connecting but i think that is my blackberry.

so guess this will be released as a stable soon

Installation instructions.

Step 1: Download desired OS to your PC.
Step 2: Install and complete the setup process to have the OS installed.
Step 3: Remember to delete vendor.xml file if your carrier the OS is not from your carrier.
Step 4: Do a comprehensive backup in case anything goes wrong.
Step 5: Connect Bold to PC and click on the Loader and let the process initiate. Loader can be found in the same folder as the vendor.xml file.
Step 6: Do not unplug the Bold during the process. Process may take around 30-60 minutes to complete.

Thanks, provided it maintains I'm going to add it to the OP.

There is a big problem for me with this release.

The lock buttons only lock the keyboard and not the device itself. I'm not being asked for a password when I unlock the phone...Really odd.

Also, there is no lock icon on the phone. Odd?

does anyone has how to activate the button on top right of the shortcuts for Sleep?, I no longer have the run!

Nicely summed up neelzz. Guess your review will do, lol... By the way, the K shortcut to lock the keypad no longer works. You must hold A or press the lock button to lock; and press the lock button again to unlock. It also goes straight to standby mode instead of merely locking (just like the .497 hybrid) so it will be a battery saver. The downside is that you can no longer use passwords on locking/unlocking the keypad.

i can't believe we waited this long for such a crappy leak. It lags a lot. Facebook app lags and doesnt show the photos the whole time. it lags while trying to view your photos on the microsd.... the onyxia v1.4 theme i've always used because i love it... anyway it isnt displaying correctly. it's just very crappy. don't download it and install.

Small question, i updated my device succesfully but now. Shoudl i also load the backup made by DM? Or just the Applications backup from bbsak?

If you want to have contacts on the phone then you will need to load it.

When I loaded this OS there was no lock icon on the phone.....any idea how to get it back?

I really dont, sorry but I know that some of these newer builds have been missing that.

I would suspect this is theme related. I have done my own custom theme with Theme Studio 5. When I upgraded to this build, the Keylock icon is still there.

I dissagree. microSD access is lightning fast for me and all my custom themes work. The Facebook apps has always performed badly on all my releases so I see no difference. I have no picture issue with FB either.

I think that this is one of the best release for the 9700 so far...
