Thread: uncaught exception

i just upgraded to new OS but after restart come out this '' uncaught exception : application net_rim_bb_phone_app(56) is not responding; process terminated.

anyone can help me.....many thank

Doesn't sound too good. I think, I would go for re-installing the OS again!

Best solution is reload the OS.

Can we have a little more information ? What OS did you install ? Did you delete the vendor file ?Was it on a 9700 ? (your signature info is 9000 bold). Does it go past that screen or does the phone just shut down ?
If the phone just shuts down i would wipe device and try to reinstall os.

sorry just got my onyx today so i forgot to change the model.
anyway the OS is 5.0.0.726/5.0.0.442 from eastasia
i dont understand coz i just transfer all data from bb8520 and this issue come up again

Just to make sure I am on the same page...

You have a 9700 and are attempting to install 5.0.0.442 from EastAsia on the device. You also have a device backup from an 8520 that you are attempting to install on the 9700 as well? Is this correct? Let me know and we will go from there.

yes but i installed the new os to my new onyx before i transfer all data...

What data did you restore? Contacts, email? Or did you also install apps/cod files from this backup? Were you having this issue BEFORE you restored from backup?

i have this issue from my old bb and now after the transfer it affected the new one
i transfered all 3rd party etc..maybe something missing or i should reinstall the OS ? and how ? many thanks

I would re-install the OS. The easiest thing to do is follow our amazing tutorial. This should help you with any issues. Two things I would stress:

• RE-DOWNLOAD the OS for your device and remember to delete the vendor.xml file BEFORE connecting your 9700.
• DO NOT restore the apps/contacts/etc. from your device backup

There is potentially a corrupt file in your backup causing issues, especially since you stated the issues were on your 8520 as well. I would install fresh applications on the new device. There are probably different versions for the 9700 series anyway.

Remember, after you install the OS to complete THREE separate battery pulls as well.

• Initial boot to setup screen, battery pull for 60 seconds
• Boot to setup screen, battery pull for 60 seconds
• Boot to setup screen, battery pull for 60 seconds
• Boot to setup screen, setup device.

yeah its fixed that thing but i have an annoying problem....i installed bbanel and after reboot always come out this word java.lang.error and my bbm contact just blank i have to go to the message to see my bbm or i reinstalled again bbm....if i restart 5 times so i have to reinstall bbm 5 times...i dont know what happened....many thanks for your help.
