Thread: BB bold 9700

hey BBOS

been using my 9700 for a few days now, had the 9000 as my main BB before this and i have to say there is such a huge difference in quality on the loudspeaker on the handsets, the 9700 was crisp and clear for calls and music playback, the 9700 sounds terrible

has anyone else noticed this or made the move from 9000 to 9700, if so whats the speaker like on yours.

any feedback appreciated

I def. notice the speaker phone is not as good of quality on the 9700 as it is on the 9000. The 9700 only has one speaker port in the back of the phone whereas the 9000 has three- one on each side and one on the top of the phone. Probably the only downfall so far with the 9700, the device isn't large enough to really allow for more speaker phone ports.

i noticed that it was coming out of the only place thats really available for the speaker, in the middle near the camera and the flash, its a let down, definitely lower quality but something that can be lived with for the time being, it doesnt get used that often for music and very rarely for loudspeaker conversations.

i noticed this aswell. but for me the biggest issue with the speaker is just volume. in holster are laying screen side up the volume is very low.

i upped one to media fire for those who prefer not to wait for downloads on rs.

I agree with the speaker phone volume being low while laying screen side up, unfortunately that's just going to be how the device is. If you get the Seidio Innocase II Surface and the locking holster that is made for it (Awesome FYI I own them.) You can holster the phone and not have the speaker phone's volume be decreased at all.

.405 had better sound, not much but seemed a little clearer, .415 is back to the same sound as .321 oh well... its just a fact of life that the speaker is inferior, nevermind, all other things about the handset are superior after a few weeks usage.
