Feel free to discuss the launch of the AT&T Blackberry Bold 9700
I'm sure there are a lot of excited AT&T customers out there. I'm curious as to the reaction as I was a little disappointed when I played around with one. It's a fantastic BB but the reduced keyboard bothered me more than I thought. Kind of reminded me of the Tour's keyboard which I did not fancy. So I will be interested to hear what people think of the size reduction in keyboard space
I just Replaced My 9000 To the 9700. Love the phone but has anyone found
the icon for blackberry maps. It shows in core applications but i am unable to find the icon. I have checked application folder and home screen.
I thought the keyboard would be an issue but I got one anyway and I'm liking the new keyboard. It's smaller but still usable for me.
I just got mine this morning, and i must admit that the keyboard it smaller but its not nothing i cant get used to.
Change Change, Before Change Change you
Nothing truly 'bold' about this phone other than the 'bold' text on the back next to the camera and flash.
I just came back from my local AT&T store utterly disappointed. The trackpad is alright nothing to brag about. Smaller doesn't necessarily mean better. I thought I was playing around with my 8820 due to the size. It felt so light and cheap in my hands, while the true bold 9000 felt beefier and more rugged.
Oh and did I mention in New York City, AT&T's 3G coverage is so garbage that I'm afraid to upgrade. I'll be looking at the Droid in Verizon come tomorrow to see if it's any good.
I'm with Blackberry till the end, but honestly the 9700 should have been the next-gen Curve.
My girl just picked up the 9700. Nice phone.
I am trying to find the icon for blackberry maps. Does att Have this
blocked out ?
If i go to options>applications>core applications it shows blackberry maps 5.0.0 i have searched everywhere i can think of. i cannot for the life of me find the icon.
any help appreciated
Be sure to download to right OS to your PC the run DM to make sure that Blackberry Maps is in fact listed in you Device Population list through the Application Loader.
If I had the device I know I could help you tevansny.
I'm stuck my friend.
Could be possibly that AT&T disabled BB Maps in attempt to force you to use AT&T Nav.
Yes i did install google maps for her so her weather bug would update.
I just was hopeing bbmaps would work. I have it on my 9950 and like it.
I by no means am trying to argue here. i am trying to expand some knowledge.
If service books are sent by att then why would they sent service books
for bbmaps 5.0.0 if you can't use them.
BBMaps could be an inherent part of the OS from RIM. It is in fact RIM's application however if AT&T does not support the app then how would an AT&T subscriber be allowed to utilize the BBMap application?
We are all just speculating here my friend...No worries..
