Thread: Leaked OS 6.0.0.333 for the Bold 9650

Although the wait continues for OS6 to be officially released for the Bold 9650, we have another OS leak focr 9650 users. This version, 6.0.0.333, was leaked today. No word yet on whats new in this OS, but as always, we welcome feedback on your findings and fixes. Drop us a comment in the forum below.

I have and its pretty solid so far. No idea about battery life.

i literally cant tell the difference from .280 or whatever the last one was.

have they added an option to disable these stupid trays yet?

Been running this for a few days now have to say its better than OS5, much faster but battery life is not that great and they still have some bugs to work out. Overall its great!

Can someone tell me if there is a way to force my bookmark to blackberry browser anymore? I have a webpage for work that will bring up a message on the internet saying that this page is a private site and you must access on the intranet. Previously on OS5, I had the favorite set to use blackberry browser. Doesn't seem to be an option now. Any way to make this work?

Had to have our BES guy put in our domain into some MDS policy which then made my requests for internal webpages go thru the Blackberry Browser.

I have been running OS 6 280 in my Verizon Bold. My only complaint about my Blackberry has been the battery life. With OS 6 280 it was the same until one day I accidentally disabled my Wi-Fi, and ladies and gentleman in this forum, what a big difference.

When I was running various OS5 and OS6 280 my battery life was poor. By 6PM my battery was down to the last notch with moderate use.
Now with Wi-Fi disable by 6PM my battery life is 75%.

What does this means? Means that if you want to extend your battery life for the day and don't have a real need for the Wi-Fi you can disable it .

Looks like Wi-Fi is always scanning for Hot-Spots and this is consuming the life of the battery quickly.

Give it a try, you don't have anything to lose. Disable your Wi-Fi for one day and you'll see the difference it is going to make in regards to the life of your battery. This is a quick fix until RIM figures out a way on how to get rid of this bug.

There are several good apps out there that will automatically turn off Wi-Fi if your not in a remembered location.

I can say I've tried OS 6.0.0.222, .280 and .333 (twice). the .333 release does appear to be more stable (for me anyway) than the other two leaked versions. I also suffered less lag time using .333. I did not notice any other differences with the versions, other than this.

I had issues with Facebook and Twitter apps not working with all three versions. The apps worked after initial download/update but it seemed that whenever I left my house (wifi zone) and later returned, I received error messages that indicated I had no data plan - contact my carrier. I deleted the apps, reinstalled them and they worked again.

After reinstalling those two apps about 8 times while running .333, I went back to OS 5.0 (shocking, huh?).

I decided to try the .333 leaked version again yesterday. So far, so good regarding lags and app issues. I have left my wifi comfort zone and returned, and Facebook and Twitter seem to be working fine. This could be due to recent updates made to those apps.

I communicate with other OS 6 users and the general consensus is that if you want to try OS 6 - use the .333 leak. The other two are not as stable. I will add that the battery life using OS 6 does stink. I don't recall ever having to charge my phone mid day prior to today. But, the OS and internet does seem faster and you get upgraded camera functionality - so, weigh the cost of those.

It's called Battery Booster and available on the online store here.

It has several features but the ability to turn off Wi-Fi once out of range was what I used it for most.

A big con is the browser won't load in the background. ARG.

with this leak, will i need to apply the service book patch for verizon as i did with .222? thanks

I have a BBM buddy on Verizon running the .333 and he didn't install any service book patch. I ran it on my Sprint phone and I didn't have to. Are you deleting the vendor file as you should be?
