Thread: Essex 9650 with Verizon Branding

Yesterday we saw the first look at a Sprint Branded Essex. And tonight the dude Salomondrin has come up with an officially branded Verizon Wireless Blackberry Essex 9650! There is not much to say about it otherwise. The speculation is that it should be released within the next month or so. But remember that is just speculation. So until then all we can do is look at this picture. What do you guys think?

Love the look and the trackpad.. I can't wait till its released, got money saved for this one... C'mon V release dis badboy already....

So let me get this right. You add wifi and a trackpad and call this the second generation Tour. Disappointing to be honest with you.

I agree, but as most early Tour adopters know, anything is better than the busted track ball the Tour came with! I hope Verizon releases this soon and gives current Tour owners a sweet incentive to upgrade. At least the S2 was released a full year after the S1......

I'm with jlevy on this one, if there isnt an updated processor and memory in it... whats the point.

Wifi can be very handy. When in the office on the phone I can review and send back out email even if not at my PC. Plus it allows you to download even faster. I would say the biggest thing I use it for is being able to talk and send pictures back and forth.

I can not wait for this phone to come out. I have the tour and s2 now and waiting sell or trade them both for the tour 2!

I too think I am going to wait for this device to come out. I was deciding between the new Curve and the 9550 and I think I was leaning towards the 8530. I currently have a Storm 9530 and I think I would like a device with a physical keyboard. I did feel like the Curve 8530 was a little lacking in few areas, especially the screen. So I guess my decision is now between the s2 and the Tour 2... I guess I have some time to mull it over.

And P.S. I was at the mall today and I was speaking with a manager at the VZW stand there and I asked him about the Essex and it seemed like everything I was telling him was new news to him. I don't know if he was faining ignorance or he was truly unaware. But if he is actually not aware of anything about the Essex, than that leads me to believe that it is still some time until we will see it... I guess we just have to wait till then...

I dont believe he was feigning.. There is nothing in the training systems on the phone yet
