I've had a lot of issues with .314 ..... .238 was more stable, .314 has a better media/music player however. I really would like to see an official 5.0 for the 9000. I would say I'd work on a hybrid and talk to bbcrackman but I think by the time it would be finished and out of beta we will already have seen a new leak or offical 5.0 for the 9000. I think the majority of the issues people are seeing with .314 has to do with AppWorld storing archives and just in general the memory card and onboard interfacing code in .314 is garbage it doesn't interface with the OS and applications well and it causes random reboots and notifications that your memory card was inserted when its been in all along....also sometimes when this happens you will lose your cell signal. Also battery life on .314 is quite a bit worse than it was on .238 ...the battery life on .238 was actually VERY good.
My bold was actually running quite well on .314 ......until but I just updated to the newest release of AppWorld and now my phone has rebooted itself 4 times in the last 20 minutes or so and I'm getting really frustrated this is the second time while on .314 my phone has started doing this crap. I think I will be going back to .238 when I get home tonight and making my own .238/.314 media/music player hybrid. I'm officially FED UP with .314
The problem with .314 lies in the radio. Disabling 2G makes .314 run without reboots, and my 3G reception and speed are better than they've ever been. A bit taxing on the battery, but I absolutely love .314 and prefer it to .238. I recently dropped the radio from .348 into .314 and am having even better luck with it. To each his own, but I really like a lot of the updates and am not experiencing any problems after quite a long time. All my apps work, no reboots, everything is fast, browser and media player are better than ever. Try disabling 2G if you're having troubl with it and I bet your performance will boost significantly.
