Thread: Adding East Asian Language to OS 5.0.0.XXX

thanks! will try this! I just hope they would also provide an input for japanese language. I want to type in japanese sometimes^^~

i mananged to install the chinese lang on .348 unfortunately, i havent figured out how to type LOL, the shift and enter does not enable typing for language.

Ok... I tried using the E.Asian files from the .190 on the .348... Only the E.Asian font support is working.... the input (Pinyin) isn't working.....

The input support will only work with .314... but not the .348...

i think bold 9000 and bold 9700 not same. but i saw a EastAsia OS5 firmware for bold9700. why just using that? for bold 9000. OS4.6 language cant use in OS5, u need to download the old OS5 with EastAsia language pack to the newer leak OS5.

I have tried on the CJK 5.0.0.190.zip file on every steps stated as above but it doesn't work on my Bold 9000 OS 5.0.0.411 particularly for inputting part. The reading support is fine.
Any expertise here?

I tried it and now i can use chinese pinyin but you need to wipe your blackberry before install the OS. (This can only works on Chinese PinYin not Japanese Input)

"Someone found that we can use Chinese PinYin method in .411:
install .411, copy all files from .190 Java folder and paste them to .411 Java folder without replace any files, then copy 2 files: net_rim_tid_core.cod and net_rim_bb_sms_compose.cod from .314 Java folder and replace them in .411 java folder. Do not forget to copy cjk file from .190 to .411. Then you can install OS to your blackberry.

There were some update:
The original testers found that Chinese pinyin input method could work well with .411+.348+.423(this OS is for bold 9700) hybrid version, I will translate their thread and post it when they publish the new hybrid way. But I still hope some carrier could release the REAL official EastAsia 5.0 OS before 2010.

will this approach of adding Chinese pinyin onto Storm work with OS 5.0.0.484?

Why not try the hybrid OS.. its more better than the usual os and most importent thing support East Asia Language font and the input

where do i get hybrid OS for Storm?

I took it from the OS 5.0.0.190 build.

Copy the COD files to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9000M_v5.0.0.314_P5.2.0.19(Your OS)\Java

and copy the alx file to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9000M_v5.0.0.314_P5.2.0.19(Your OS)\

When you run apploader, you should be able to choose the east asian language support for the install.

I just joined this sight to let you know that you guys are trying wayyyyyy to hard to get east asian support.

just go to bell's website, download the lasted version (not the latest leaked version, but its official) 9000AllLang_PBr5.0.0_rel771_PL5.2.0.41_A5.0.0.464_ Bell_Mobility_Inc.exe

and there you go. everything works 100%.

its all languages. i cant believe i figured this out on my own and there are tons of people looking for it.

lol i didn't mean the file attached here Yeah japanese input is there when installing but it won't appear on my bb. Installing .411 from bell mobility alone works though, obviously. I've tried hybrids with east asian + input, but jap input won't still appear.

and .464 from bell doesn't have jap input as well ><
