i'm trying to install via DM but these directions (http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/h...n-process.html) are confusing as hell to me

well...really its just step 4 that kills me

have you tried installing it through app. loader first ? sometimes it works through there, my did!

See if this helps. When you have your phone connected to DM, drag these files onto your phone's memory. It should be either Drive F or Drive E. Then search for the .jad files and click on that and install.

If you downloaded the file, Open DM

Connect the device

Click on the Application Loader button

Click Start under Add Remove Applications

It will do a scan, when it's done click on Browse in the box

Navigate to the alx file that you unzipped from the download above.

I didn't have to move anything, I just did the steps from my last post and it went right on.

You may try restarting your pc and BB

If you really want it bad, back up your device and reload it with the os and then try the steps above.

ive tried that link before....no go

Ok give this a shot.

Take the files you unzipped and create a folder say BBM 5. Put all of the COD files and ALX file into that folder.

Go to options, memory and enable mass storage mode.

Open up DM and connect your BB.

Once DM recognizes your phone a file folder should pop saying Blackberry E.

Drag the folder named BBM 5 into the Blackberry E folder.

Disconnect from DM. Now browse to that location on your phone. Locate the .jad file and click on it. The installation should then begin.

The OTA's would not work for me at all either and I tried from so many sites but but downgrading 4.6.0.282 then loading the 2 cod files with BBSAK worked and then upgraded back to 5.0.0.100 and as you can see... presto. I have the 4.7.1 BBM zip if you need it still.
Also is there a difference you can tell between 5.0.0.100 and 5.0.0.130? and where can 130 be found?

Finally got it to work...don't ask me how. I fell asleep and woke up this morning to send a message and it had me accept the user agreement and all of a sudden i had 5.0

Glad you got the Fix. 5.0 just needs to settle in once and a while. But you are good to go now!
