No luck!

What OS did you upgrade from?

I'm not quite sure. Whatever originally came with my Bold. This was the first time I ever upgraded.

Alright try going to the link below from your phone. It will install a different version of BBM. As for WLM, I don't think it works with OS 5.0 yet.

Load the ALX. Make sure it load the version for OS 5.0.0.

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand some of the lingo.

What is the ALX? How do I load this?

... because I don't know what program to open the ALX with.

Connect your phone to your computer.

If you are on a Windows 64bit system go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

If not go to:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

Double click on Loader.exe. It kind of looks like a phone.

Go through the wizard and use it to add the ALX from the folder your unzipped.

I tried this and it says the application is not compatible with my device.

Alright let's forget the desktop install then and go back to trying the OTA link.

Do a battery pull, and make sure you email the link to your phone. Also make sure that the browser identification in the browser configuration is set to BlackBerry.

Did everything you said. Download still failed.

This time the error:

Sabin let me focus on the ZIP file for second if you don't mind

Once you have the file unzipped do the following

take the .alx file and copy and paste that into

C-program files-common files-research in motion-shared-loader files- **paste the alx into your OS folder

Then take all the cod's from the zip file and paste them into the following

C-program files-common files-research in motion-shared-loader files-open up your OS folder and paste them into the java folder. It should ask you if you want to replace all, select yes

Then run apploader again and see if that fixes your issue

As far as WIndows messenger did you verify it wasn't hidden at all as well as check all folders hidden and showing?
