I just bought mine and it hooks up to the standard A/C charging plug that connects to the wall (the one that comes with your blackberry) Phone drops right in. It's nice and sturdy quality.
I found it on Amazon quite cheap. $14 shipped. ($11+shipping)

I've always wanted one for my 8320. Just have never had extra money to get one. They look nice and bettre than just laying your BB down on the table.

By the way the point of this dock is so you dont tear the USB port off of the Bold's motherboard due to constant plugging in and unplugging. Ask me how I know. I ruined my 8800 AND 8300 curve this way. The dock for the 8800 is $50 so this is a steal in comparison. I'm gonna buy two more.
If I wasn't using the otterbox case, i would of bought that months back. I take it this charges the port directly at the bottom of the BB? Does that jack on the unit itself appear to have a means of removing and using it without the plastic cradle? I could probably make a cradle that can accommodate my phone+case.
Yes the cradle charges the device from the contacts on the bottom. Mind you, it only charges, it will not transfer any data, you would stil need to connect a USB cable to the port on the device for OS changes/updates/back ups.Quote:

No it is not. Not sure what you are exactly referring to. There should be two metal silver contacts on the left and right side of the device near the bottom that is used when charging in a cradle.Quote:
