When in the cradle, try Bedside Mode - Turn off the radio and/or turn off the flashing LED and show a clock only on the display without lit trackball and keys. Very nice when you have it by your bed and you're trying to sleep...
Now that I've got the dock, I leave the Bold standing in there, showing the time when I get home. Before going to bed, I enter it in the bedside mode, so I have a night clock.
My question is, keeping the clock showing the whole night - will it damage (burn) the LCD screen? Perhaps a 'floating clock' should have been provided...
I don't think it should damage the screen as the clock is very dim. Honestly, I think the overuse of BBs would be the first cause of damage versus the bedside mode clock.

I've had this dock since January and I love it. I actually have 2. One for home and one for work. I'm a store manager at at&t and the dock helps me sale the Bold w/ ease in conjunction with different cool themes. Our Blackberry rep gave me one for being the top Blackberry seller in our district (I have a biased opinion of phones lol) and the second one I bought one on ebay for like $15. I love it
Gotta chime in here too and share my love of this inexpensive, but absolutely essential accessory for the Bold.
I have 2 of them - one at my bedside and one on my desk in my Home Office. Bedside mode is great, absolutely love using my Bold as a sweet-looking alarm clock and it is the first thing I reach for when I roll out of bed in the morning!
My Wife was so jealous, she made me buy one for her BB Pearl Flip!
The only complaint I have is that it is far too easy to tip my Bold out - wish there was a simple lock or the fit was a little tighter.
Other than that - sweet little accessory.
Thanks for the mini review Ironhide and welcome to BlackberryOS
