Seems like in .282 you can now switch to 3G & 2G. It is no longer locked to pure 3G.

Wow nice find Ausch and good news as well![]()
Yeah nice Ausch but I dont think I could live without 3G :lmao:
I love having that option, saves battery when your @ a bad reception area ( just switch to edge and your good to go) Also some people have noticed better call quality..
Welcome J to BBOS. I like having 3G speed for data services but definitely being on 2G would greatly enhance battery life.
Look forward to seeing you in the forums.
The bigger issue with the switch between 2G & 3G has to do with roaming in other parts of the world. I've been in any number of countries where I had lots of 3G signal, but no data. I have to constantly downgrade to EDGE in order to be able to get data in these places around the world. The switch is a MUST HAVE! Glad to see it's available now without debranding.
I know it doesn't affect me being in the UK and all, but what exactly is the reason that AT&T want everyone to have 3G only. What about rural areas where 3G coverage may not be available. Do they just say 'ah well let some other carrier have the business'. Crikey.
