Thread: How do I stop Opera from being the defualt browser!

Whenever I get a link to download or open something it only gives me Opera Mini as the option so I have to copy the link then open the Blackberry browser and paste the link in. I only want Opera as a back up browser for when I cant use BBs browser.

Anyone resolved this issue on there own phone?

If you haven't actually solved this on your own phone or know for sure if you can fix it or not then lets try not to clutter the thread up with opinions, guesses, and why would you want to do that comments!

Deleting Opera should do the trick.

It also only happens in opera 5. Opera mini 4.2 triggers BB browser for download links. So you have 2 choices: use BB browser like cruzntrhu suggested or downgrade to 4.2.

I like Opera 5 myself, so my workaround is to copy the link from the email, and paste it into the BB browser. I use BB browser for WAP pages and downloading, and Opera for full HTML browsing.

I like Opera 5 a lot, but it's a MAJOR inconvenience that it takes over as the default browser for two reasons:

1) it doesn't offer you a choice (i.e., you can't disable the feature), and
2) you can't download through Opera 5!

Sure hope they fix this with the next version!
