The Proper Way To Uninstall An Application

In my travels around the forum I have seen many new users
making the mistake of deleting an application icon and thinking
that they have uninstalled it; this is not the case.

This is the correct way to uninstall an Application:

1. Click Options...

2. Click Advanced options...

3. Click Applications...

4. Highlight the application to be uninstalled...

5. Click the Blackberry button and click delete...

The device may ask you to reboot, if it does then do so.

Does it need to be mentioned that you can delete apps through Desktop Manager as well!

That's true also. It is a separate procedure though.... so let me see if there is a thread. If not, we can add the steps to the OP. Thank you. :)

also, you can add that you can uninstall themes. Many users dont know how unisntall themes ;)

Thanks for the post. Maybe there should be a mention of what to do when apps/themes don't show up in the Applications list as this has happened to me several times. Right now I can't find the Enhanced Gmail Plugin in the list at all and I want it Gone! When I'm at home again I'll try Crackutil as I've found this useful for this purpose in the past. Might be good to mention that option. Not sure if the new BBSAK would be useful in this regard as well......

First thing to try is to connect your phone to your computer and try using Desktop Manager to remove it.

Thanks for the advice. I was successful using Crackutil and removing the net_rim_bb_gmail COD's. I only ever seem to open Desktop Manager to do a backup these days but it's nice to know there might be other options. Also just wanna say that I love this forum! Some really positive, helpful people on here and very little rudeness as can be found on Certain other blackBerry forums. Keep up the good work! :hail:

Is there a way to be 100% sure that there r no files of the uninstalled application left in the device, such as settings files?
