    Bolt Browser gets update

Bolt Browser receives another update which is said to make improvements. The list below shows those improvements.

    # - Significantly improved BlackBerry scrolling speed and control
    # - A new 3XL (extra large) magnification mode with content 33.3 percent bigger than in 2XL
    # - Double tap approach to select links on touchscreen devices like the BlackBerry storm (eliminates inadvertent clicks)
    # - Wi-Fi auto-selection as default option when Wi-Fi is both enabled and available
    # - Save and view pages locally on the phone
    # - Support for folders in favorites
    # - A new landscape viewing feature
    # - Improved magnifier dragging in split screen mode on the BlackBerry Storm
    # - Improved video quality on mpeg4 capable devices.
    # - Lightweight encryption when HTTPS is disabled by the user -- secures the user session by encrypting login and web page data. While not as secure as HTTPS, this offers much better security compared to unencrypted plain text.
    # - Improved scrolling speed in image rich pages.
    # - Double tap enhancements for switching between split and full screen
    # - Improved BlackBerry Storm home page tab clicking
    # - A user preferences page to reduce menu clutter - especially good on the BlackBerry since there we utilize the native menu structure (without sub-menus

Nope unfortunately still slower than Opera. Its a shame because if we could merge Operan mini and Bolt it would be amazing...!!!

From Opera, amazing fast speed, zoom in feature (one tap and zooms in the whole screen not 1/3)

From Bolt double tap links, handle pages with medai way better and bookmarks etc system.

    Just my $.02
Why buy a Blackberry if your not going to tinker with it???

Yep... should of tried it before opening my big mouth. Now you cant even get the keyboard to automatically pop up anymore. Plus its no faster, very disapointing for an update, i guess not specifically for the storm

Got an update today, 1.04. Went up from .97 I think it was the other night.

Won't go to page now though, always goes to the Bolt page with history and favorites.

I just updated Bolt and it is much quicker now than it was on the past. The page layout is much richer than Opera IMO.

For those who are not getting the keyboard to automatically pop, go into preferences then uncheck "Inline Editing". You will now get the keyboard to auto pop up when entering a url.

I agree the quality of Bolt is superior IMO than Opera. Unforunatly its not optimized for the Storm. Just performed a test on wifi with my 8900 and Bolt was considerable faster at rendering than Opera was.

I am actually less impressed with the speed of the current version. The bubble style of scanning through there list of application does make it easier. I may try this for a couple more days, but the standard browser seems much quicker and easier to manage.
