I tried something neat with my Storm. I downloaded the Opera Mini 5 version for blackberry OS 4.3, enabled compatibility mode, and tried it out. You can scroll around faster than the touchscreen version, by using the E and X keys. You navigate with the mouse cursor. The menu items are on the top instead. Hitting backspace still deletes everything, so there is no practical reason to install this version of the browser on the Storm.
Someone else mentioned that copy and paste works by holding your finger down. Navigating to the start page is possible by opening a new tab, or closing your tab if it is the only page open.Quote:

I opened an animated gif. It doesn't animate in Opera Mini, so I clicked the "Open" button that shows up under it, to switch to the bb browser. Nothing happened.
I went to youtube. Clicked on a video. in Version 4, this prompts me to switch to the bb browser. Nothing happened in Opera Mini 5. Handing stuff off to the bb browser is currently broken.

Oh, I think Opera needs to be lowercase, like "opera:config"
I just noticed that Opera Mini 5 fails miserably at rendering Persian text. It is jibberish letters. The "bitmap fonts for complex scripts" setting in opera:config doesn't matter.

well the site loads but when I click on watch video nothing happens.
Any ideas?
The only complaint I have about this beta is that it took away my get link option for installing jad's. I have a open in Opera Mini option instead now.
Anyone know how to default back to BB Browser in the SMS and emails?

Boogee I'm pretty sure on mine when I highlight and hit bb button it says to open in mini but if I just click on a link it opens in the bb browser.I'm not sure if just certain emails do it or not.
Thought I'd share a little tip for you tubers and dail motion folks.open your bb browser and direct it to keepvid .com then open opera and find the videos you want and just copy the address in opera and hold down bb button til the little window pops up with bb browser in it and paste the url in there and save.its not as great as being able to just watch them but is a speedy process if there's a bunch of vids you'd like to save.same with jpeg hold finger on it in opera til popup says get image then copy that address over into bb browser and save.its like having bb browser as one of your tabs.
this is the reason i deleted mini beta 5.0 off my phone, i dont like the fact that it puts itself as the default browser and doesnt give you the option to even change it :irked:Quote:

I also don't like how it defaults on e mails. I'm hoping someone has found a work around. I fooled with it for a while today and I sure can't figure out how to do it
