Looking for a good Text to Speech app which will make my BB Tour read off emails SMS, MMS and BBM to me. My old LG Voyager and many others have this ability yet RIM seems to have left it to the wayside.
No, not STT Speech to Text as in Vlingo and so on but the exact opposite.
Also not one you must subscribe to. Thanks to Sean I found this MobileTTS speech software for Blackberry ($695) - Gus Communication Devices, Inc.
but it costs 695.00$ which is preposterous. :Eyecrazy:

You could take a look at Drive Safe.ly. Currently in a free beta. The current offering is a bit limited, but ther is also supposed to be a paid option coming out (reasonable) that will have more features. I tried the beta but really didn't use it enough to bother keeping it.

The voices are good, the talk read-outs are a bit fast but it works with emails, MMS, SMS, and any txt you might receive.
Also for right now, it's free by doing this....

What this means is yes... it's still a free download for the basic version, which keeps telling you to purchase a premium version. So by "faning" them on FB, you get the premium code and the other voices and so on for free..
