For those interested, i received an email from AmAze GPS this morning they are beta testing a new version of their FREE GPS app. they have sent it to some people 3 days early, but i'm sure it will be all over later today if its not already.
Here is their emil
We have released a new test version for the Storm, which according to the first feedbacks- solved the GPS problem
You can download it from here: http://demo.locationet.com/amaze (on you're Storm)
In a few days, it will be available through our download site, but we didn't want to keep you waiting any longer.
Post feedback under the Storm-now works with GPS topic in out forum.
Not sure as i was already setup with a password but you may have to go to their site and setup an account first.
It is a pain Doorules, I agree, some observations:
I noticed that the click screen we have is not incorporated into the program. Just touch the screen like a voyager or those other touch screen phones and you will get how it works. Besides the touch interface, it does not scroll.
Personally, I like the the program, but because it doesn't take into account the way the storm works this is a nogo prog. for me...
It has potential though, if they change it to work like WB, BBmaps, and the other progs out there I think it will become very popular.
It's current status is a resounding BOO for me. Sorry AMAZE, consider it uninstalled.

Click the Like button to thank me. Retired Administrator--I never try anything, I just do it.....Wanna try me?--
I have used it 3 times to take me home from work last night and to an appointment yesterday afternoon and back. It is a little difficult to get use to but...... 1 - it works well, 2 - it's free, 3 - directions and weather are spot on, 4 - Did i mention its free. Ha.
they have a good forum for help.
as for the location, you need to bring up the keyboard, go to the first letter of ur state, drop the keyboard and use the scroll button to go down, yes a pain but it is pretty easy to do. the hardest thing to get use to is the touch vs click. and i'm still trying to figure out if it has a follow me option with their nice 3d type maps like VZW nav.
but as far as adding favorites and directions being good, no problems here. Kinda like when i first got my storm very fustrating but now love it
just my 2 cents
When i first downloaded it it showed me in Kansas City not St. Louis, but after it connected to the sat. and played with the navigate button a bit it had me dead on.
Did you make sure you gave it time to connect outside and get the sats signal to green
I just reinstalled this program then went outside and still nada. I hit the GPS tab and it read No Sat. So how do I get this to recognize a satellite? Oh by the way all other map software can find me within 3 meters.
Thanks for the app. I live in Southern new Jersey & the program had no problem finding me. This isn't too bad for a free program. It's a little hesitant navigating through the different options. I'm sure it'll get better over time. All in all not too bad.
I leave it on the phone for a while & see how it operates while traveling.
I wish it had a 3D follow me option like VZW Navigator, I find that really usefull, I mean it does so it in a 2D map similar to google and bbmaps but woudl like it in 3D, they do say they will look into it. I have found going to their forums they are very helpful and pretty quick to answer questions.
