Good one. I forgot about Google Maps, I use that too.Originally Posted by blachance75
In my eyes you have got to go with BBM and especially with the leaked version of 5.0.0.8. It is a great application to stay in contact with your friends and family that are on the BBM network. Although Google Maps is also one of my favorities it is just unfortunate that it is not 5.0 OS Friendly!! I wish it was!!

You're right. Hey, this was done real early this morning. I was half asleepOriginally Posted by Natemz

Go with Other and it will be duly noted![]()
I vote for other and choose BerryAddon, it has some features that should become standard with all BlackBerry. One such feature is the ability to add a new number to my contacts.
BBM is a great app but I only know 4 or 5 people that have BBs and not all of them use BBM. It is mostly my wife and I talking back and forth with it.

Telmap navigator Beta 4 for me, I do a lot of driving
BlackBerry by Choice!
Looks like BBM is going to be the clear winner unless something dramatic happens in the next couple of days and I don't even use IM.
What's up with that ?

If anyone wants to bump BBM off the No.1 spot, now is the time to do it.
For me, I would have a really hard time... I love BBM and the leaked 5.0.0.8, it's fantastic. I also would be bored stiff on the train everyday if it weren't for Slacker (as well as in my office), granted, I am a Slacker Plus member so it's a little different, though the free version is what sold me!
Google Maps I liked initially, but found the BlackBerry Maps can do most of the same, including searching nearby to your GPS (and the gps locating is much more accurate than Google Maps version).
Viigo I found to be slow, temperamental, and, ultimately, a giant memory leak (granted, this was long ago, newer versions could very well have solved some of these issues as I was still using my 8830 World Edition or my Curve, not my Storm).
Poynt I have used on the Storm, but not the beta version. The original version I thought was nice, but nothing special because I could just set-up QuickLaunch to launch all of the websites I would need to find out the same information it is providing.
My apologies for my rant and if I got a bit long-winded (and perhapsfftopic: with my response to this simple poll) but I figured if we're voting on our favorite free apps, might as well give the reasons why I didn't choose the others before I tell you all the app I voted for.
Since I've dallied around for long enough with my response....
BBM... it's just so helpful, especially within a community of blackberry users.
Apps: AddOnis, CopyAll, QuickLaunch, Slacker Radio, BeeTagg, SmrtGuard, GoogleSync

BBM, by a long shot
Maybe I should start using it.
My best free one is Opera mini![]()
