there is one but i couldn't ever get it to work so i deleted it. others reported that it worked great for them. here is the link to the thread. it however is storm only.
i had the impression there was straitforword mode option like when you hit options while camera is on other than, contrast and such. kinda easy that way and when i couldnt find it. I was looking for an app i thought i was missing or had to down load. because if it was you there wasnt anything said about ability just that it was in BBM 5.0 something or other and to look in the forums. so i was looking in desktop.but i didnt see it.But did find a couple of places on the net they have apps (software versons) for just about everything, but the tour .so forgive me i was still looking for an app.if theres just instructions i will have to find them then.
No sorry. It's pretty straight forward. First open BBM (you must have version 5.0 installed). Then press menu and choose to add a contact. It will ask you how you like to add, by email, scan a bar code, display your bar code, or by entering the PIN number. When you choose to scan a bar code, it will open the camera in scanner mode. It is not possible to open the camera and turn on the scanner. It must be down through BBM. Once you have it open, all you have to do is point it to the bar code, and it should read it. Not all bar codes work though, and there are occasional errors. It's very primitive at this point.
thank you i will try and sort that out tomorrow i dont have 5.o on phone but i try some of the apps. on the net.
Scanner prog worked good for me on bbc v8

You can scan barcodes with BBM 5.0... I don't know of anything else, but there has to be some sort of app I would think since now there are barcodes for a lot of different things now
there is a good free program call BeeTagg that works pretty well. I haven't tried NeoReader, but BeeTagg works when scanning off my computer screen at the office (an flat-screen LCD), wasn't too much glare, worked 4/6 attempts -- just let it focus and you're good to go... I don't know what the rule is on posting the link, but PM me if you want the website, or let me know if I'm allowed to post a link directly to the website
APPLICATION
let me fix that for you :)
