So browsing the developer forums for verizons developer community i found some interesting details of their combined app store.
Essentially the smart phones will be getting their own store front on top of the VCast app store.
VZAppZone = Support for RIM and Windows OS
VCast Storefront = Support for RIM (Apps migrated from VZAppzone), Windows OS (Apps migrated from VZAppzone), J2ME, Android, Brew, Palm Web OS
Verizon actually already has a website dedicated to VZAppZone at: VZAppZone
It has the download page as well as a list of supported devices including various win mobile devices as well as the storm, curve, and 8830...interestingly enough, the tour isnt on the list. Although the storm is on the compatible devices, i wasnt able to download the appzone software, probably because it isnt mainstream yet.
Here are a couple screenshots. Keep in mind these are from a windows mobile device, the blackberry store is subject to look and function differently to be more user friendly with the blackberry os.
the tabs include:
MyZone, which can have the info from your device as well as weather and other important notifications
Get content, the actual storefront
My content, essentially my world from blackberry appworld
an applications page, including reviews, ratings, screenshots, and price
a buy now screen
whats hot, kind of like the opening screen for app world with new and popular apps
support, including billing info, registration keys, and email support options
Edit: the tour is supported, even though it is not on the appzone website, it is in the Faq
