Thread: Questions for You Mail Users

What is your take on Youmail. I just got it today, and it seems very cool, and you are able to have personal voice mail messages for everyone, and even do them in your own voice. What are some other features, pros, and cons of You mail that im missing?


Also, how do you get ALL your contacts to the web site that you use with youmail? Mine brought up 31 of 274 of my contacts.

Iv'e been using youmail for some time now and love it. To get all my contacts on there server, I downloaded the YouMail Visual Voicemail Plus app. Found HERE OTA. Browse this link from your phone, or email the link to your phone.

I agree, great app. I pay a little extra each month for the transcriptions and they are dead on.

I use it and love it. I have a generic message for unknown numbers. All my band numbers get a specific message for the band, my office gets one for them, and my close friends have certian ones just for them.

Only down side I had, was I never stored Youmail's number as a contact. When I was doing alot of OS upgrades, my VM number kept getting reset to *86. After I made Youmail a contact, isue solved. But with the app, I don't even need it any more.

I've used it for about 2-3 yrs now. To get the best out of it, def download the app. The customized greetings make it worth it also. I use a professional greeting and upload all my contacts via the app and callers are blown away when my voicemail greets them by name

I love YouMail i like the fact that it goes to my cell and online as well, i have recently tried teh Google Voice and was not liking it one bit.

I'm a big fan of youmail as well. You can physical check your voicemail, via telephone, internet....your contacts can be stored and saved on the website. This program is great especially with the greeting feature. I would highly recommend this program.

Okay, when did youmail update their app to work nicely on the storm. When I used it last it was terrible on the storm. It works so well that I just deleted VyMail. And that's saying something.

If you have a Storm and are not using YouMail and paying Verizon for for Visual Voicemail, YOU ARE NUTS, this works better than visual voicemal and its free.

i didn't like it for the amount of minutes i had to use to check my voicemail's since when i had it it wasn't formated for the storm yet

I have used Youmail for about a yr now and I really like. Nice app.

so my question to all the storm users is........does it work properly where you can recieve your voicemails in text format now???????

Yes, I receive all my voicemail in transcriptions.

You have to pay a small monthly fee. I pay an extra $6 a month and get them transcribed by a real person, not a computer. So they are always dead on. I literally never have to listen to my voicemails if I don't want to.

so for 6 bucks i can get them transcribed by a real person? would i want someone listening to all of my voicemails? some of them can get graphic..i'm not sure i'm going to have to do some thinking....i use vvm from vzw but it isn't that great....when i first got it i thought it was going to be in text format.......should have done some more researching at the time

no i'm not worried about the 6 bucks a month i just don't know if i want someone besides myself or a computer listening to my vm's

My problem is that when i upload my contacts from my phone (Storm) it only shows 27 on the contact list on the website. Why isnt it taking all my contacts? Do i have to pay for more memory or something to make that happen?
