Thread: Pay or not Pay for a Weather App.

Hey so i am trying to decide between the following weather apps-

BB weather-
Likes- Free, easy to use, lots of options besides radar
Dislikes- Looks Crappy (icon wise on home screen)

Berry Weather-
Likes- Looks killer both icon wise and in program. Radar
huge disk like- $9.95 for a weather program is just crazy.

Weather Bug-
Likes- looks good, free, (probably has more options but been months since i played with the program.
dislikes- known battery and memory killer (probably has more options but been months since i played with the program.

Weather Eye
Likes- Looks good, free,
dislikes- ads, no menus support (cant hit blackberry button to use quick launch to take screen shots. no radar

So by bbos friends, what program do i go with? Can i get your pro's and con's please? Thanks!

(If i go with the pay app. i am so waiting till it goes on sale. come 50% off sale, and i rather not pay but for the options i will.)

Berryweather... It can also be integrated
With other bell apps like berrybuzz.

Berry Weather is the best weather app I have tried. For $10 you sure get a lot. The best UI, great radar maps and such.

BBweather for a free app is pretty good as well. Not as good a UI and options are much less limited.

Weatherbug: Used to like it but too much memory leak and the program can be instable.

I ponyed up the $10 for berry weather and couldn't be happier with a weather app. Great UI, maps etc. Before that I used weather eye and it was only good for the icon, nothing much past that.

I used BBweather for a long time before buying Berryweather and I like it. Berryweather is my hands down favorite and I miss it since getting the tour. I am using BBweather again on the tour and it is ok.

When it comes to the weather apps, all I want to know is "What is the weather"? I used to run Weatherbug, but I found it would kill my memory (prior to .151). However, now I run BB Weather because all I want to know is how hot it is and what the week is going to look like. I'm not a meterologist, so I do not care much for apps with a radar. Oh, BB Weather is also free, best price.

No kidding? To be honest I didn't even try it at: let me re download it and see

I just broke down and bought berryweather and i like it the best. It is more user friendly and looks the best. Now that I have bought it, you could wait a day or two and it will probably go on sale like everything else I have bought.

Thanks cveklund, since you bought it its sure to go on sale now. lol! I will have to look around for the always famous sale on the program!

(not that i am sold. the beta verison is still working on my phone. till it quits then i will probally go back to weather eye since i like it's interface the best besides berry weather. )

I don't think there is any question on this one, Berry Weather is by far the best weather app in my opinion.

I agree!!! It's worth every penny of $9.99!!! No memory leak at all, I can't part with Berry Weather :07:

berryweather well worth the plundge...not sure about device switching but i figure they will transfer to a new phone when you get one too.

Weatherbug has served me well for a long time and the price is hard to beat ($0). I tried Berry Weather and it's awesome but my free app tells me everything I need to know. Current conditions, forecast, radar, etc.
