Thread: Anyone use Sling Player for Slingbox on the Storm?

I am thinking about getting a slingbox and was wondering if anyone has used the sling player on their storm, it is not in the supported blackberry phone listed. I seem to recall seeing someone's list of apps here on BBOS that had used it. Does it work well with vzw? Thanks!

I can't speak from personal experience regarding using Sling Player Mobile on the Storm; however, several folks on the Crackberry forums have reported good results downloading the Curve's ".jad" for SPM directly to their 9530 and running SPM in compatibility mode.

I used that same version of the SPM on my old 8830. The 8830 was "gasping for breath" to stream TV, but it was usually watchable.

I ran the Bold's version of SPM on my Tour with pretty impressive (to me) results--until I tried itehun's hybrid OS for the Tour. The OS runs great but Sling Player is having issues with the hybrid build right now.

I used it on my storm. Like they said a above, you have to use in compatability mode. Then you have to swipe the screen like you have a trackball. I don't have the download link anymore. it does work though.and I am on verizon. I had it on my treo with verizon and it wad awesome.

I've got it (the Bold's build of SPM) running just fine on my Tour. I also ran the curve version on my old 8830--although the old 8830 was kind of maxed out trying to run SPM, but it was mostly watchable. The Storm should run it easily in compatibility mode.
