I never had any luck with it. Had it loaded for a week or so, Then ended up downloading the the quick launcher for youmail. We can sure try to help you get it setup though. Where you running into trouble.

Note: I'm gonna move this to the 3rd Party Software / Applications

So does your voicemail now work on youmail or are callers still getting your verizon voicemail message?

Have you looked at all of these?

The first thing to do is to open VyMail, press the menu key, and select About. The last message on the screen should start with "Last result" followed by some information. That will generally be one of the following:

    Missing sign in data
You have not yet entered your YouMail sign in data into the options screen. Open VyMail, press the menu key, and choose options, and enter the phone number and PIN number you use to sign in to YouMail.

    Invalid PIN
The PIN number you entered is incorrect. When entering your PIN, be sure you do not hold the ALT or SHIFT keys, as this field defaults to numeric entry automatically.

    Sign in data changed
You've recently changed your sign in data, and VyMail hasn't attempted to contact the YouMail servers yet. Press the menu key and choose "Sync now" to force an update. If the message remains for more than a few minutes, try resetting your device by pulling the battery. If it still remains, make sure that your phone number is entered correctly.

Invalid phone number or Unregistered phone number
The phone number you entered is wrong. Make sure there is not a "1" preceding the number entry. This must be the number you signed up to YouMail with (the same number you sign into their website with). There need not be any parenthesis or spaces

Post back after using it for a bit and let me know your thoughts. Youmail is an awsome program. The only thing I dont like is the forwarded number your voicemail goes to isn't verizon, so it uses non verizon minutes.

i used vymail for like 10 minutes then realized that i dont really care for the whole way youmail works so went back to verizons voice mail...plus the "visual voicemail" is kinda pointless for me. also tried the youmail app thing too

If you have Family & Friends - I don't think it counts

Not meaning to hi-jack the thread,

But if you are on VerizonWireless and you add the YouMail number to your VerizonWireless "Friends & Family".... then it doesn't count against your minutes.

I like YouMail a whole lot. I have about 75 contacts, each with their own personal greeting. I even use it when I may be expecting a call from someone, but am out of pocket, so I tell them in their own personal greeting exactly what the deal is.

I also like when people ask me later, "How'd you do that?? How'd you know it was me calling?"

It makes them feel special, and makes me feel good inside... hehehe...

    ;-)

If I'm not mistaken, you have to be on a family share program to qualify for VerizonWireless "Friends & Family".

isn't there a minimum requirement of like 2000 minutes as well. I think that is a bit steep.

you know what I just realized what i was referring to, that new thing like my fave five or some dumb thing like that.

some other carrier does it already. where you pick your 5 or 10 favorite phone numbers that your friends have and even if they are not on Verizon, you can talk to them for free.

that's the one that you need 2000 minutes to get it on your plan.

I forget the name that they use for it.

T-Mobile - myFaves (5 numbers) and myFaves for Families (5 numbers per line)
    Alltel - my Circle, and My Circle Family {5, 10, or 20 numbers (across all lines if a family share)}
Verizon - Family and Friends (5 for single lines (900 or more plans), and 10 for family plans (1400 minutes or more)

I am not aware of any plan of Verizon that requires you to have 2000 or more minutes, and the only unlimited plans I am aware of to a set of numbers no matter the carrier is the Family and Friends plan.
