Looks like a good alternative to Youmail Visual Voicemail.

Yeah I was reading about that. I am reserving judgment on it till I can get some user feedback :) but it does sound promising.

I've had an account since GrandCentral opened. It works well. I wish I had a choice in the phone number selection but I'll take what I can get. There is an app called gvdialer for the Blackberry phones but it did not play well with my 8330 and it had a trial. Haven't tested on the Bold. When you went to dial, a popup appeared asking if you wanted to dial from your phone number of your Google Voice number. It often locked the 8330.

This may be a dumb question, but what is Grand Central and how do you become a member? Or is it a member type thing?Quote:

You get a single phone number that when it is called it will ring all the phones attached to your account at the same time (home, cell, office, etc). It also has voicemail, web interface, out calls that originate from the web, and a few other tools/toys. The beta is not open yet but from what I've seen, it should open soon.

Ohh. Now I get it. I understood what Google Voice was, just didn't put the two together. Sorry, was a duh moment, I guess. Thank you for clarifying for me though.
Yeah, most of Google's products are good. I hope they release it soon, it looks promising, especially i heard that google voice has voicemail to text for free. Can anybody with an account already, confirm the voicemail to text?
It's not perfect. The voicemail I left read:
"test test 1 2 3"
Close enough though. Screenshot from Google Voice attached.
Ok. Theattachment doesn't appear to work so hopefully this will.

thats just to funny. I have to try it. :D
so when I get my other line in about 3 months for my business your telling me I can get it to ring on my storm? that would be great so I wont have to carry 2 phones I hope thats what I'm reading...
I'm half asleep so I hope I understand your question. You will be given a phone number from Google. You add your phone numbers to your account. When someone calls your Google Voice number all of the phone numbers associated with your account will ring at the same time. You can answer the call from any of the phones that are ringing. If you don't it goes to the GV voicemail.
Thought I would post this for all of you waiting for google voice. Sounds like it might be awhile for any of you that just signed up. This was posted over at BGR and I also confirmed it with his tweet.
As impatient people craving access to Google Voice continue to wait for the arrival of that joyous invitation email, Google Voice head Craig Walker gives us a brief insight into just how long of a wait some users may be looking at. A short while ago, Walker tweeted that the team is currently working on invitations that have been pending since the days of GrandCentral before it moves on to more recent invitations requested since Google acquired the service. The clarify that time frame, Google snatched up GrandCentral way back in July of 2007 — meaning that if you’ve requested an invite recently, you’ve probably got a hell of a wait ahead of you considering the GrandCentral invite system was killed two years ago.
Just an FYI if you want to follow on Twitter add Cwalker123 to your list.
