I am not sure what you mean about the person receiving all the time. I've heard some unlucky folks in Canada do not have MMS in Canada and that is quite a shame. I was just pointing out in general why pay for an app when almost everyone here in the US (and some in the Canada) have that service for free.Quote:

EMS is what is required to send 160+ characters and it "wrap" or carry over into a 2nd or 3rd message, most phones allow up to 7 full sms messages of 160 each, seamlessly created as one message.
recieving parties need to have EMS to recieve as one huge megasms...if they don't have EMS they'll recieve individual sms messages split up by the character limit.
just so you all know, it is a restriction in place by RIM. it's part of the code in the OS for the CDMA side of the market. there is something about their interface with the CDMA frequency that prevents them from being able to use it.
on the storm, if you unlock and change to GSM, you can type over 160 characters. most/all GSM berries have EMS, but none of the CDMA ones have it.
and know you know, and knowing is half the battle.

we figured it out one day, the >160 features IS enabled if you're on a GSM storm...
however, it isn't full EMS...you don't get foreign character support in sms or anything, so its just the character limit that's enabled.
the limit is like 1,000 characters, but that's a hell of a lot, so shouldn't be an issue.Quote:
