The last time I use your program with the Restore Apps, it restored them so fast that I had to check to see if they really were restored. I couldn't believe it. Why would you want to take away something that worked that fast?

Am I the only one who feels that the last beta was easier to use for the guy who does not live his life on his BB and just wants to do the occasional update? I think it was much more straight forward and easier to understand and you did not have to use BBDM to install your app backups..... Just my opinion
The only thing that changed in the release was the way restore worked. everything else was just so you could see what what was going on. I dont really know why you would want to install using the old method bc you lose the ability to see version numbers but must importantly the ability to uninstall apps from the the phone (options/advanced options/applications menu)

the goal is to one day eventually replace BBDM but unfortunately the Loader.exe will always be needed. you can load your apps SUPER easy using the loader.exe

I don't see why, if you can use one program to do it all. Why would you want to use two? I like this beta as far as listing all the files on the phone and adding and removing .cod files but I want the Restore Apps function back. It would be cool if the listing of the .cod file would show the version number too. I don't know if this is possible or not.
We will look into putting hte restore feature back. but doing it this way like i said so many times before sacrifices full control of the apps.

on a second note we are testing v1.4 already with version numbers and a few other fixes

v1.4 should be exciting. I had issues with restoring my application with v1.3. I preferred having a button that read "restore apps"

One big benefit is as more features are added you have a much better command center to work with, yet if you don't need the added features today, you will have them later when you do. BBSAK has made editing and tweaking my BB a lot easier and safer.

thanks for the input and this is exactly what we are trying to do... adding in features that are safe and easy to use. If someone doesnt know how to use them thats perfectly ok that probably means they have no use for them neways.

maybe we should consider looking into creating multiple versions. for beginner and advanced users.... hmmm

I think put it in and let the user determine what he does. I don't want to have to install different versions based on what I need to do!

Probably because they were having an issue when you would install them with BBSAK you wouldn't be able to delete them through your advance options, they might have removed for the time being till it's fixed.

    New to v1.3
    • Fixes bug with password protected devices
    • New way to detect device implemented MUCH MORE efficient and accurat
    • Radio is now temporarily disabled while backing up devices (turns back on when backup completed)
    • Backup now creates .alx file (allows you to install from loader.exe/desktop manager) and wont give you trouble when using desktop manager
Restore 3rd Party apps removed - with alx install in 1 step with loader.exe
    • Ability to Read all Apps on the Blackberry (3rd party and stock)
    • Ability to Save individual COD files (C:\Program Files\BBSAK\CODs\(App name)\cod file)
    • Ability to Remove individual COD files (THEY WILL BE LOST FOR GOOD!)
    • Ability to Load individual COD files (some require phone restarting others do not depends if app is running in background)
    • Donate button! please donate if you appreciate our hard work!
But you can backup then click Install COD and install them individually

Wowthatisrandom, so to clarify, there is no more 3rd party app back up or is it not recommended to do with bbsak?

There is a backup button on BBSAK. It will backup your third party apps, and create an ALX file, just like DM does. What is different is that the button to restore apps is removed. This is because you can use app loader or DM to load the ALX to restore the apps.
