Entertainment Tonight is on its third week and unfortunately this week's app is not a good one. I've messed around with this app for a couple of weeks and I'm surprised I've lasted that long with it to be honest as it is just terrible. This week's Entertainment Tonight app is:

The intentions of Moodagent are great. The idea behind this app is simple: Organize your music into a playlist based on your mood. Upon opening the app you are asked to upload/sync your current songs with the app so it can recognize what time of "mood" each song fits. Then the user can toggle between 5 different moods:
  • Sensual
  • Tender
  • Happy
  • Angry
  • Tempo

Sounds cool right? Well Moodagent's controls are so bad, whether you're using the trackpad or touchscreen if you have it, that it is very hard to even set the mood you want. Sometimes if you click on the mood it goes up and sometimes it goes down. There's no specific way laid out to control using the keyboard either which could make things easier as well.

Sometimes Moodagent will cease to recognize that you're even pressing the screen or clicking the trackpad. I would press play, wait, nothing... press play again and it would start playing only to pause again because of the delay. If that wasn't annoying enough, Moodagent is terrible at recognizing and matching up moods with songs. How "Stereo Love" can be considered an "angry" song is beyond me. You might say "but it's Tempo," to which say yes but how is Dashboard Confessional "Tempo"? Makes no sense.

Moodagent also has a recommendation feature which, obviously, recommends a song that's similar to another song you have in your phone. Example above has the Black Eyed Peas' "Whenever" being compared to Beyonce's "Listen" which is about as inaccurate as it can get. Not even having this part of the app function correctly is what really gets me mad. If you can't identify the what song is similar to another song then how can you identify what "mood" it is suppose to be?

Overall this app looks cool and has a great idea behind it but unfortunately it has too many bugs still and is not very user-friendly. I really don't like this app.
