If you are looking for a great free weather app or you alreday use WeatherBug, the popular BlackBerry version has been upgraded. UI and weather content have both been improved in this update.
Users can receive alert notifications and create home screen icons for any location. Weather information received can be customized to display either 7 day forecast, detailed forecst, hourly forecast, doppler radar and live camera images. There have also been enhancements to weather information received and detailed live observations. Among the enhancements include: humidity, sunrise and sunset, wind speed and direction, rain, UV index, pressure, rain and temperature. Animated weather maps with doppler radar, satellite imaging, lightning strikes and NWS alerts have also improved the apps interactive imagery.
There is a free version in BlackBerry App World which is ad supported. It sounds like they have made some nice improvements to an already decent free weather app. If shilling out your hard earned cash for a weather app doesn't quite add up, this is a great little bugger to pick up.
Here are some other features of the app:
•always-on display of current temperature and weather conditions with automatic updates as weather changes or an alert is issued
•contextualized location-based weather accessible by touching map locations
•tight integration with BlackBerry Contacts, Maps and Calendars by updating weather for addresses, locations and scheduling
•sharing of weather content, alerts and images by email from within the applications
•proactive and notification-driven alerting when severe weather threatens including lightning alerts exclusively from the WeatherBug Total Lightning Network
•efficient use of push technology for conserving device resources
