BlackBerry Traffic Beta Updated to 1.3.0.511

A new update to the BlackBerry Traffic app (1.3.0.511) has made its way into the App World Test Center. This app was originally only available in the BlackBerry BetaZone program and was later released as a public beta in App World. Not a whole lot has changed, still no 2D/3D navigation or voice navigation.

Here are some of the changes since the last version:

• Users can now select a traffic-based alternate route instead of the default direct route from the menu options. An alternate route is a route that may take less time depending upon current traffic conditions. A direct route is a route that typically takes the least amount of travel time under normal conditions.
• Nearby offers are now visible on a new drive view. Offers may contain promotions and discounts for nearby businesses along your route.

I am glad they added the option to change your route because that was a big issue with me in my neck of the woods. To download the latest version of BlackBerry Traffic head on over to the App World Test Center.

The only version I'm able to install in the test center is 1.2 on my Tour 9630. What gives?

I'm having the same problem with my curve 8900. The test center only shows version 1.2 but on the computer its shows 1.3 available and link it sends me still gives me 1.2

This update is being rolled out a little at a time. I was unable to download this last night but the update came to me this morning. I would just keep checking.

If you are having issues you can also hold alt and press rst with appworld open. This will clear your appworld cache and hopefully make it visible for you as well. Touchscreen users will not see version 1.3 for it's not compatabile as of now with these devices.

I've cleared my app world cache through out the day still no update.

Hi guys, so I have downloaded Traffic about 3 times now, and no matter what it won't connect to the server. So, yesterday, I found out that there was an official OS release for the 9700 from Telus. It was to deal with dropped calls that were happening. Updated the phone, redownloaded Traffic (the new Beta version)......same thing.

But now, my BB Maps isn't working either! I just get a screen full of diagonal lines (like when it's loading a map). I think this probably has something to do with the Traffic problem.

Any ideas on what to do? I tried to redownload BB Maps from the Blackberry site, but that didn't work. I had to use a version that was saved on my computer.
