Thread: Foursquare for BlackBerry Updated to 1.9.5

Foursquare, the location-based game and social networking app has just updated their BlackBerry app to version 1.9.5. For those who never used Foursquare, you just enter your location or "check-in" whenever you go out. You can earn points and badges as rewards. Check in enough times at one location and you can become Mayor, find certain places with tags to earn badges and also see who else is check in currently. Some businesses have now started to offer discounts for people who check in or special deals for those who become mayor.

The latest version of Foursquare 1.9.5 now adds push notifications so users can now get instant updates using the BlackBerry Push notification service. In addition to push notifications this update also includes Faster User and Venue Screens, Improved Battery Life, and UI Improvements for Touch.

To grab the latest version you can get it in the BlackBerry App World or point your bowser to http://foursquare.com/blackberry/beta.

The first and only noticeable difference I can see is that the keypad is stuck on. There is no option to close the keypad on my storm. I don't like the keypad taking up half the screen and having a small portion for the app.

are you running it on compatibility mode?

I honestly don't know what that means or how to check if it is or not.

Options Folder> Applications> highlight Foursquare> BB Menu Key> select Disable Compatibility Mode> and your done. Sometimes you need to do a reset........

What's up with four square today? Anybody having problems?

Mine either says over capacity or come back later...
