FileScout 2.0 from emacberry is now available for download. It is surprisingly packed with many cool features and even more important, Blackberry 6 compatible! FileScout is a very useful utility, especially if you send or receive .zip files through BBM on a regular basis, as I do. I can open a .zip file, install to a folder of my choosing and continue on from there, installing a program or perhaps a theme.
If you own a touchscreen device, you will immediately notice a new design that allows for quicker access to FileScout's main functions. It can be a little confusing at first as you may not know what each icon on the new Ribbon Bar does. FileScout does not seem to pop up a description for each function on the Ribbon bar, so you may need to visit their website to get familiar with them. After discussing this issue with the developer, he informed me that tool tips in third party software cannot be done as of yet.
The new MultiSelect feature is also very cool. On touchscreen devices you can simply use two fingers to select multiple files/ directories at once to manipulate as needed. The MultiSelect function is also available on non-touchscreen devices as well by holding down the "Shift" key while scrolling.
