    Google Voice Gets Updated

All you Google Voice fans can get the newest version of GV for BlackBerry. The latest version, 0.2.0.2 was released today and should be faster to connect your calls. From the release statement:

"Until today, the Google Voice app had to make a request to the Google Voice server every time you wanted to make a call to send us the phone number you wanted to dial. Then the call would be connected via a Google Voice access number. With direct access numbers, we assign a unique phone number to every person you call. This means that we no longer need to use your data network to access the server each time you make a call, so calls will be placed much faster."

If you don't use Google Voice, its a great way to connect to people. You have a Google Voice number that you can hand out and get text messages and calls from. I personally hand that number to people that might need my number once or twice, like when I order takeout. You can manage your conversations online as well, set a voicemail password and even schedule which phone you receive calls on. Now that it is updated, are you noticing a faster connection? Leave us a comment and let us know.
