Yeah, I recommend the DM over BBSAK simply because BBSAK has had issues from time to time, plus I understand DM better. You know the old adage...To each his own..

To my knowledge, most of the 3rd party app information will need to be updated when ever you upgrade or downgrade your OS.
Some may retain their settings but most will need to be re configured.

The cod file is the actual file used to create the application and the .alx file is the file that instructs the cod file.

You are welcome for the help.
    Good Luck

It shows up as a different folder E in XP so that is how I explained it.
Thanks for the heads up though.

Well my issue is apparently redundant and probably is a replay. My issue is this
I have the red light blinking and no image at all on the screen. I have seen on all the forums that it can be restored.
I connect the device and have BBSAK and JL_commander, using it through dos with load.exe /nojvm, and others
It is trying to do something as it stops the reboot cycle and even shows NOPIN:UNKNOWN.
I reboots and needs the device reloaded. I have install the desktop manager and the OS that I have to reload. Downloaded the USB and serial drivers also.
I believe the issue is the computer is properly recognizing the USB device. Saw it was common
Also. It keeps asking for password and my son (who has the device I gave him) doesn't remember the password.
What can I do to make the device seen properly by the computer? I have put three days in this and gotten no where. The nukes video doesn't apply since he can see the screen and has a different situation. HELP!!!!

Just to take a shot in the dark, have you tried "1234" for the password? Many phones come with this pass as default and then it can be changed later on.

Well, I just tried the 1234 and it knows and is communicating somehow as the rebooting stops and the light flashes rapidly but it comes back and asked for it again. It says: unlock Blackberry device
    PIN: 0
    Password (-9/0):

I read somewhere that the numbers (-9/0) is your password counter and that using up all 10 of your tries with the password will wipe the phone and may give you window to reinstall the OS. Of course this is just what I read and I would not attempt this unless you are at a lost and is the final thing you can do. I don't want to be responsible for wasting your device. This seems like a rare issue you have.
