Thread: Bolt Browser for BlackBerry Updated to V2.1

The folks over at BerryReview have reported that Bitstream has updated Bolt for BlackBerry. The new Bolt Browser is now sitting at version 2.1 and brings forth a couple of exciting new features. Additional support for Tabbed Browsing along with HTML5 video support is a great start. The HTML5 support adds to the very large list of flash websites that work with Bolt. The widget gallery has been updated, along with the bolt servers to support webkit v4.03. I don’t want to forget about the fact that you now have the ability to browse to the Facebook website and chat with your friends. Yes you read that correctly, the new Facebook integration now lets you use Facebook Chat inside of Bolt along with copying text and posting it to Facebook. In my opinion this new Bolt Browser is more user friendly than ever before and can really save you some time with the super-fast page rendering speeds. Current Bolt users should already have gotten a notification about updating to the new version. For all of you who use BOLT as your primary browser, you'll be happy to see it was updated to 2.11. For those that don't use BOLT, it is one of the alternatives to the default Blackberry browser. Bitstream, the makers of BOLT, say that while the new version does not add new features, it is recommended to update. Bitstream states,

"The 2.11 release includes important updates that address server response times which eliminates the problem on some websites that has caused BOLT to hang at 20 percent on the progress bar, as well as improves Twitter use."

To update, simply open up Bolt and you will be prompted to update to 2.11. If you haven't tried Bolt yet, click the link below using your BlackBerry browser.
