For unknown reasons, the new RIM Twitter app has developed some connectivity problem. If you are currently signed in, you should have no problem. But if you sign out of the Twitter app and then attempt to sign back in, you'll be in trouble.
No word on when RIM will get this fixed but there is a known problem on this. If you are installing a new OS and think this may be related, please know it has nothing to do with your OS.
I was wondering what was up with the app. Thanks for the notice.

There have been numerous issues with Twitter in the past 24 hours.

Interesting. I was able to logout completely and sign back in again no problem.

As of 9am this morning, the Twitter app is now accessible. I am getting a lot of "Twitter Unavailable" error messages but the app is now enabling me to log in.
Several "Twitter unavailable" error messages here also.
