Thread: Verizon to push out Backup Assistant for the 9550 today?

There's an eerie feeling in the air. Things are strange right now. Hell must be freezing over. Why am I saying this? Because Verizon is releasing all kinds of new apps, OS’s and services lately, which is a very strange occurrence? The company who has the reputation of dragging their feet looks like they are getting ready to push out another new service for Storm 2 owners. Last week, Backup Assistant was pushed out for the Tour. Now it seems that 9550 users will get the new app as well. BerryScoop got a photo that shows evidence that VZW will push out the service on April 8th. Yep, that’s today alright. No official word yet if any other devices will get the Backup Assistant treatment; but it’s still nice to see Big Red releasing the amount of new content that it has been lately. Now where’s that PTT for my 9550?

I just got word that BUA is launching today for the Storm2. Only info I have on it is that it will start to be pushed out to all devices at some point today. I am pretty excited about this. I have a feeling that it will make updating to New OS leaks that much faster. How do you feel about it?

Nope still nothing I have been re sending my services books all day lol...

8pm and and nothing yet on my S2

Just asked my contact to check out what was going on with BUA. It is still showing in Infomanager that it is being pushed out to all devices today. It also says that in order to download you will need to get it threw App Center which I have been refreshing all day as well as sending service books. I still am not seeing it either

Why would Verizon make you go find it? They pushed it to the Tour. Doesn't sound right to me.

Does anything ever sound right when it comes to Big Red?!? The way they do things is beyond me lol..

I shrunk my OS so ill have to figure out now what to do if needed thru app Center

If you want Apploader, go thru DM and just add it thru application section of DM.

I just noticed that a new program has been pushed to my Storm2.
Backup Assistant. Is this another program that Verizon is sending to our phones that we will be charged for? does it send our information to Verizon or can we back stuff up to our SD card? Anyone know anything about this program?

Backup assistant is a free service from Verizon that allows you to store/edit/back-up contacts online at the Verizon website.

Well look what finally decided to show up on our s2's. Big red was only a day late lol. As stated BUA is a free service that allows u to backup your contacts wirelessly.
