Skyfire browser not coming out for 5.0 OS

    http://bit.ly/cI7cJN

Well it looks like were going to need to wait even longer for Skyfire to come out now. The team behind skyfire has come out and revealed that they are pausing the development on the Blackberry platform citing inconsistent API's and the inefficient java environment. But they might continue development on the platform when OS 6.0 is released along with the webkit and they believe they can build a mobile browser that can handle Flash 10.1 based on RIM's new webkit and environment. But for now were going to have to turn back to Bolt 2.0 and Opera mini 5 for our main alternatives.

To be honest, we know it's in the works (sort of) but don't know 100% when and or if it is going to come to us. They've teased us with a screenshot of the home page, but that's something a theme could have produced (an ugly one at that).

Starting your eager wait for it now is a bit early Lol

End of 2010 is the time frame that I have seen floating around. If that's the case, it must be fairly far along since they are still early into the 5x rollout.

The skyfire browser could handle full flash with the current Blackberry software supposedly.
