Looking for APP of a multi-message answering machine

I have a Storm 9530 and an 8330 Curve.

Hi :-) I'm new to this forum and absolutely love everything about this web site. I'm amazed at the talent!

I was wondering does anyone know of an app (I don't mind purchasing in a web app store either) that will allow you to send different messages to different people calling your phone? Like say when Bob dials my number, he will get a message saying, "Bob, don't call me anymore," while Suzie will get a message saying, "Hey Suzie! How are you doing?". I know there is one for text messaging, but I would like to have this apply to calls coming in - like a multiple message answering machine. Thanks for any help :-) :p

While that certainly is creative and can eventually become VERY complex, I don't know the popularity of it. Normally what I would do is find people requesting apps, such as yourself, and if they can't find them - I will make it. This however, the coding seems as though it can get rather complex and I am not sure how the demand will be for it.

Can you go into a bit more detail as to what kind of application your looking for? Like I said, if you can't find it - I'll make it (if it's within reason :P).

I have the program that blocks calls on my storm, but that is not enough for hubby on his 8330. He wants to leave a different message saying like: "Quit calling me!" and then for a person like Bob saying perhaps "I'm not available right now." Don't worry about it. It sounds like too much work. By the way, I do have the program that texts back to people like that, but I was really wanting something like an answering machine that would leave a phone message like that for each different person. I don't know if I'm saying it clear, but I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. Very pleased I got a response so quickly!

Awesome then you have solved whether or not something like it exists.

One last question before I decide on development :P

The application you currently have is - based on people calling you, it texts back? Or based on people texting you, it texts back?

It texts back the person who texted with me a variety of messages available. :)

Okay, so this leaves room for an alternative.

Let's run through a scenario:

You open the application, and assign a certain message to Jim. (The message may be a 100% custom message)

Next, Jim calls you and you don't answer. So since you didn't answer, the application pushes this text to him. It's virtually the same - it's just not a "answering machine" method.

This is 100% doable and the demand for this could have some potential. Check with your husband and let me know if this is an liable alternative for him. If he is okay with this method instead of an "answering machine" method, then I will add it to my list of applications to make and release.. :)

So far on the list I have TellMe! Pro, QuickNote Pro, and QueueCall (This, then QuickNote, then TellMe!) That's the order more than likely.. But after these 3 are done, I am going to stick to a static order of first come first serve.

The only thing is that:

When Bob calls and we are not available, we want the voice mail message to be different than the one sent to Carol or Sue. Not a text message sent to them. When it is ringing and Bob calls, I want the voice mail to pick up and a different message for different people.

So if the FBI calls, for instance, I want the voice mail to say, "yada yada yada.

When Bob calls, and we don't answer the call, I want the voice mail to say, "a,b,c,d,e,f" and so forth.

No app can do what you are looking for. Applications can not change or conditionalize the voicemail system of your carrier. The only option is to use a service like Youmail as johnm93359 said.

I actually had youmail on my phone already, lol...but I didn't look at all the features of it online to know this. I have gone to their website, and actually looked things up, and yayyyyyyyyyyyyy - I found where you can record different messages for different callers!!!! Thanks to all that helped me on this. I'm soooo thrilled about this! :haha:

Just fyi, Google Voice will also do this.
