Generally speaking a utility feature/app would not get looked at twice with the pricing of this app, however I believe it sells itself. After I took a hard look at this app I feel there is enough value built into it, to warrant the higher then average cost. Although the service of Xobni Mobile One may not be for me I am getting my hands on the Mobile app.

I don't see a free trial on the website. If you just purchase the app without the monthly subscription can you still sync contacts with Outlook via DM? I spent 15-20 minutes looking at the website, but I don't see an answer. If the program is truly wonderful, I wouldn't mind spending the $10.00, but I'm not going to get involved with a subscription. I sync my Tour and Outlook daily. I access contact information equally from both. If the ability to sync contacts with Outlook like the native app does is lost, I see that as a deal breaker. Any info would be appreciated. I don't want to throw away $10 to find out. Thanks ::bbos::

I was fortunate enough to be an alpha tester for Xobni and I can tell you it is an excellent app.
The best contact management app out there for the Blackberry right now.

Thanks for the input gentlemen...I too looked on the website for quite some time, without finding a free trial. I submitted a post in the forum regarding a trial...I will report back with any info.

Purchased the mobile version and here's my mini review on my 9700 running .442:

Xobni does not replace your native address book, it is separate. To use the app, you need to log in with your username and password each time you restart your BB. (It will save your user & pass but u still have to click login) From the point I clicked 'login' it took 2 minutes to pull all of my info. 300 contacts, 69 emails. (I used the stopwatch on my other BB) You pretty much have to stay logged in and run the app in the background; otherwise you would have to repeat the previous process whenever you want to use it. The way it gives you an overview of your interactions with each contact can be seen in the pic Jrod posted up top. For some reason it won't integrate my sms messages. The apps email functions do not work for me either. I can only read emails. You also have the options to open the RIM's native search function as well as schedule a meeting with a contact.

When viewing a contact, if you click on Facebook, it takes 2-5 seconds to find the contact on Facebook so you have the option to view their profile. (You must have the contacts email address that they use for Facebook stored under that contact in your BB or it will not find them on Facebook.) It does not integrate with RIM's FB app. If you click on 'View Profile' it will bring you to the FB mobile site. I'm assuming LinkedIn works the same way.

In addition to your BB contacts, Xobni will pull emails from others who are in your inbox and list them as contacts. If the email was sent with the senders name attached, it will list them by name which is nice. That comes in handy when composing an email from RIM's native message app. Xobni's contact list will automatically pop-up, so in case this person isn't in your BB address book, you don't have to use RIM's native search function to find them and then copy & paste their email address to compose. It saves a few steps.

It has some other functions listed above which I did not touch on b/c they are pretty much self explanatory. I did not run Xobni long enough to see how it cooperates with my battery so I am leaving that out as well.

Still hoping for an answer. Will Xobni still sync via DM with Outlook if you don't subscribe to a monthly service? :omfg:

I dont think it will. That service is the Xnobi One service.

Honestly though its not needed. You just open app log in and it recompiles...

As far as syncing with outlook thru DM, don't think so. I choose not sync my BB w/ Outlook so I can't say for sure. Xobni doesn't remotely save anything though. If you delete your emails from time to time, and most of us do, Xobni will no longer list those ppl as contacts unless you physically entered them into your BB address book.
