Blackberry Apps: Official Releases for Twitter and LinkedIN Announced
The intense wait is nearing an end. According to RIM, two highly anticipated applications are approaching a public release. RIM recently pushed out a newsletter which retains information regarding the release of Twitter for Blackberry as well as LinkedIn for Blackberry. They do not specify exactly when the release dates are but they do however state that "two of your favorite business apps will arrive in Blackberry App World soon." This is excellent for those of you who like to use the RIM official software instead of the 3rd party applications. The newsletter while previously stated doesn’t provide an exact release date; it does however provide different ways that you can be notified of the release when it is officially open to the public. Either by following @Blackberry on twitter or by adding your email address to their notification list. We have provided links for your convenience below. Let’s hope this monumental day comes sooner than later!
This is some good news. Do we know if there will be any updates to the Twitter client than the one that is in private beta right now? Or is it going to be released as is? I kinda hope/ think there are at least a few updates, especially because then it brings up the question of what was the purpose of the private beta if they aren't going to make any updates.
They sent an email to some beta testers asking them to take a survey about their experience with the twitter application. That leads me to believe they will be updating before the official release. Also, MOST of the time the official release of any software package is normally an update.
