Looks like today is a day full of app updates. Privus Mobile a caller ID app just received a new update. New version number unknown, however I do know that this app is now running in realtime on the Storm2 and 8530 devices. With realtime, you are updated with the caller ID info by the 2nd or 3rd ring. For all other devices you will get the info after the ringing stops and have the option of calling back.
A lot of people think they have Caller ID on their mobile phones, but that’s just not true. Your mobile phone identifies only the callers who are already in your phone’s contact list. That doesn’t really help you avoid unwanted calls, particularly from salespeople, strangers and wrong numbers. Privus Mobile is an app that tells you who’s calling your mobile number whether they’re in your contact list or not. Privus Mobile works like the Caller ID that you already know, only better. More accurate than home Caller ID, Privus Mobile identifies, by name, up to 95% of callers that aren’t already in your contact list.
My contact at Privus Mobile tells me that the next update to launch for Privus Mobile will most likely have SMS naming and Bluetooth announcements. A launch date is not known right now, however the minute I find out, you will know!
Keep in mind that it will only be realtime on the Storm2 and Curve 8530 when connected to wifi. Verizon/Sprint do not support simultaneous voice and data on their CDMA networks. The current version is 3.0.6.
