Thread: Poynt updated to 1.5.3.14

After loading a new OS hybrid, I had to re-download Poynt, and was surprised to see a new version. 1.5.3.14

The main screen is new as the buttons are configured in a sorta 3D circle and spin around with a swipe of the screen on my Storm2, (which means this is probably an upgrade solely for storm 1 & 2). They have added transitions tjhat are also pretty cool.

I checked out Poynt's site and did not see any mentions of an upgrade. I also re-loaded this app about 4 days ago and it was not this version,( Poynt doesn't seem to "restore" well for me on an OS/hybrid change, so I don't restore it...I just reload it.). It seems to me that this is an aesthetics only change for the storm user, but it looks a lot sharper.

It seems that the version from Poynt's website, as of now, is still 1.5.2.36

The version on BB appworld is 1.5.3.14

Same strange thing here - only the older version for me regardless of the way of download.

Maybe someone could post an OTA link?

I got the newer version from Appworld. Can't see asny difference for the 8900. For those of you who havent used it yet, it is the best location based info apps out there. I also like the fact you can watch movie previews!!!

This is NEW for the touchscreen phones. Storm 1 & 2. We had no Carousel...or transitions before.

That link gets you 1.5.2.36 that's the older version. Only place I find is still BB appworld.

Hmm, I've had the carousel version on my Tour for quite a while. Maybe this update is for Storm 1/2 only??

This is an upgrade for the Storm 1 & 2.

Oh, I see.

Apparently it is an update foe all, as appworld is sending emails to all who've downloaded this app from appworld. Only those with a Storm 1/2 will notice a big difference. There maybe differences for the trackball folks...but not noticeable, I've heard.

Actually it has been noticable for the 8350i been using it for awhile and I admit, I LIKE!

Thanks I just updated on my 9700. Had to go thru AppWorld. Working fine here.

Just downloaded from App World on my Bold 9000. The carousel seems a little bit smoother but maybe that's just me. I love this app it is great to find stuff around you and it's FREE! Can't beat that!

There is also a private beta rolling around with a different version

The update IS ONLY available through App World for now!

The update was to include to put the carousel for storm devices and to include some european countries...
